In his solo project Aïchoucha, Tunisian producer, composer and multi-instrumentalist Khalil Epi embarks on a fascinating musical and cinematic research journey through his homeland, tracing traditional music forms that are still alive today. The immersive performance draws the audience into a hypnotic experience, plunging them deep into the rich landscapes of Tunisia.

Alone on stage, he brings electronic live music, synthesizers and machines into perfect synergy with his self-shot film, which unfolds across three large panoramic screens, guiding the audience through the diverse regions of Tunisia. Khalil Epi embroiders his own score to the images, letting electronic live music dance to their rhythm: enriching and amplifying the presented repertoire and giving the chants a powerful new resonance.

For Khalil Epi, Aïchoucha - named after his grandmother Aïcha - represents a new artistic experience. For more than a decade, he has presented multi-layered performances at the intersection of electronic, jazz, rock, pop and traditional music, such as in his current duo project Aïta Mon Amour. With Aïchoucha, he creates a sensitive work that moves between past and present, tradition and artistic creation.
