Join us for a screening of the powerful documentary No Land’s Song by Ayat Najafi, which follows composer Sara Najafi’s fight to revive female solo singing in Tehran. The film highlights her fight for musical freedom and the broader struggle of women in Iran to reclaim their artistic voices.

Following the screening, we invite you to join a panel discussion featuring Ahoo Maher, a Vienna-based Iranian visual artist; Arianaz Golrokh, an MA student in Sociology and Social Anthropology at CEU, who focuses on underground feminist movements in Iran; and Nima Noury, an Iranian musician specializing in traditional Persian music.
The panel will be moderated by Leyli Noury one of the founders of the Viennese Kurdish, Afghan, and Iranian association Javaneh. Together, they will reflect on the state of artistic freedom in Iran over the past decade, sharing personal experiences and exploring the challenges, resilience, and ongoing struggles of voices that refuse to be silenced.
